Each year the Hawaii Publishers Association holds the Hawaii High School Journalism Awards. In 2015, we celebrated the 46th annual event honoring Hawaii’s brightest talent in journalism. HPA works with the public, private and Catholic schools throughout the state to provide a competitive way to recognize the accomplishments of our High School writers, designers and photographers.

HPA also hosts a prominent keynote speaker during the awards luncheon. In 2015, Francesca Weems of Hawaii News Now told her inspiring story about overcoming homelessness to become a scholar athlete and a career in broadcast journalism.

This is a special event and is one of the many way HPA is helping to make a difference in our community.
