After 32 years honoring the talented work of the state’s newspapers and publications, the Hawaii Publishers Association decided to end the Paʻi Awards in 2018 because of declining contest entries and banquet attendance and because the Hawaii Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists has a statewide contest with most of the same categories.
